If possible, I would encourage you to never give up with your dreams and I am giving you two examples from my life.
I have the weakness, which can be to some extent also a strength, to behave as a kind of maniacal person when I put a target on me (such as the song Maniac from Flashdance movie). But the only reason is that, in order to accomplish a dream, the training is essential, and, in my case, I also need to find the right way to balance the difference of strength between my left and right part of the body.
Several years ago, I started to play bowling. In this case my dream was to reach the possible highest score in a bowling game. I was spending several hours playing alone reaching also more than 20 consecutive games. After about 2 years I became a bit more confident in this activity and in February 2017 I reached the score of about 200 points. Yes, it is not the highest possible score, but I had to give up with this sport because of some issues with the back. But at least I partially reached my dream :)
Another dream I had is to complete a marathon. I cannot run fast or for long distances because of my issues with the back and the only way to complete a marathon in the given time limit is to walk at high speed. So, I started to go to the gym and using the treadmill by increasing the speed gradually. And the 1st of May of 2021 I participated to a virtual marathon. Unfortunately, I was able to complete only 37 km in 6 hours because I had to stop due to some issues with my foot. But the 15th of August of this year, during a sport challenge organized by my Company, I have been able to reach 42 km (about 26 miles) in a day. It is true that it took me slightly more than 8 hours of walking and so, it would be over the limit allowed in a real marathon, but at least I partially reached my dream also in this case :)
